After relocating to Los Angeles and finding the job market to be more competitive than anticipated, I decided to focus some of my time on creating something to help me stand out from the hundreds of other applicants. Inspired by the nostalgic interface of Windows 95, I designed a visual cover letter that will show employers —rather than tell them— some of my artistic abilities.

Within this piece, each pop-up window serves a unique purpose, highlighting my skills and personality through playful design choices. In two of the windows in particular, I wanted to ensure that my name and face would not be easily forgotten, using old WordArt styles to make my name pop and turning a self-captured headshot into a Microsoft Paint style illustration. Although this piece was created to grab the attention of potential employers, I still incorporated hidden Easter eggs to be cohesive with the overwhelming details of my other digital artworks.

This project allowed me to combine graphic design, digital illustration, branding, and visual storytelling all in a way that represents my style as an artist. By blending nostalgia with self-promotion, I aimed to create a unique and memorable visual cover letter that would distinguish me from the other candidates by doing what artists do best: showing through visuals rather than words alone.
